LA Galaxy suffer 2-1 defeat to Rapids

An enthralling contest between the LA Galaxy and Colorado Rapids ended in a 2-1 victory for the visitors Tuesday night at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Kevin Cabral was a late scratch with Dejan Joveljić up top and Sebastian Lletget inserted back into the midfield.
Colorado have blossomed under Robin Fraser, and it’s safe to say the Rapids steamrolled the Galaxy in the early going. Rayan Raveloson conceded a clear penalty with a clumsy tackle on Jonathan Lewis and the U.S. international buried the attempt past Jonathan Bond. Really Colorado could have had several as Lewis consistently beat the Galaxy back line.
Eventually the Galaxy worked their way into the game and a broken sequence ended with Raveloson making up for his earlier mistake by absolutely smashing a near post shot past William Yarborough to level the match.
The second half was a see-saw affair as both teams traded barbs: A sure header from Derrick Williams was miraculous swatted away by Yarbrough while Cole Bassett and Samuel Grandsir smashed the woodwork. In the 73rd minute Colorado broke the deadlock as substitute Andre Shinyashiki got free in a crowded penalty box to push a header past the goal line.
