LA Galaxy Player Ratings vs San Jose Earthquakes

How sweet does that feel? Six points out of a possible six and two clean sheets to boot. That week could not have gone any better. Anyways, here are the LA Galaxy player ratings from their match against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Goalkeeper – LA Galaxy Player Ratings

David Bingham: B

That is now two consecutive clean sheets for the former Earthquake goalkeeper. In this season’s first Cali Clasico, though, Bingham didn’t have much to do. He did, however, have to make save late on that really sealed all three points on the night.

Defense – LA Player Ratings

Dave Romney: B+

Dave Romney was superb in his start at left back. Read these stats. 5/5 on his tackles, six clearances and four interceptions. He’s a big reason why the Galaxy were able to keep the score 1-0 on Friday.

Jørgen Skjelvik: B

The 26-year-old is really coming into his own. Skjelvik put in a solid performance leading the back four. He completed 88% of his passes and had five clearances of his own.

Michael Ciani: B-

Still am not the biggest Ciani fan around. After the performance Romney put in, Sigi Schmid should certainly look at putting Romney back in at center back.

Emrah Klimenta: B-

Klimenta was certainly more composed during this second outing. He was successful on his only tackle and completed 87% of his passes.

Midfield – LA Player Ratings

Sebastian Lletget: B

What a shift this man put in against San Jose. He was successful in 55 of his 59 pass attempts. Those 59 attempts were second most on the squad, behind only Jonathan Dos Santos.

Perry Kitchen: B

Perry Kitchen did what Perry Kitchen does. Kitchen was the rock in front of the back four, making sure nothing got by him.

Fowards’ – LA Player Ratings

Chris Pontius: C+

Pontius filled in well enough in his spot start. But there isn’t much to write after that to be quite honest.

Jonathan Dos Santos: B

As predicted, JDS was the key link between the midfield and the attack. Dos Santos completed 87% of his passes and completed one dribble.

Romain Alessandrini: B+

Romain’s finally back. Alessandrini bagged his first goal since the season opening match against the Portland Timbers. Hopefully that’ll get him back on track and back to finding the back of the net.

Ola Kamara: B-

The Norwegian striker was not at his best against San Jose, as his goal streak came to a close. Kamara’s only two shots on the night were blocked.
